Estimates, not advice

Every tool on this site produces simplified estimates for planning purposes. They are not financial, tax, accounting or legal advice, and they cannot account for the full detail of your circumstances — filing status, regional rules, credits and reliefs, other income, or the professional strategies an advisor might recommend.

Known simplifications

Our tax-related calculators intentionally simplify. Among other things, they generally assume: a single individual with self-employment as the only income; standard deductions/allowances with no additional credits or reliefs; national-level rates (US: federal only; Canada: a simplified average provincial rate; UK: England/Wales/NI bands); and that all profit is taxed in the year earned, with no pension or retirement contributions.

Each tool page documents its own assumptions and cites its primary official source with the date the figures were last reviewed. Tax rules change during the year; always verify current figures against the official source linked on the page.

Late payment and legal content

Information about statutory interest, invoicing requirements and debt recovery is general in nature, varies by jurisdiction and contract, and is not legal advice. For significant debts or disputes, consult a qualified solicitor or attorney.

Your responsibility

Decisions about pricing, contracts, taxes and payments are yours. Before acting on any estimate from this site in a way that matters — accepting an offer, setting aside tax, charging a client interest — confirm the numbers with a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
